problem with Whipple install
I finished installing my Whipple HO and everything went fine until I connected to the negative battery post. My I/C water pump started immediatelyeven before turning over the engine. Now it seems to be working in reverse. It runs, even with the ignition off, when the car is cool and turns off when the car gets up to temperature.
I hooked it up according to the manual where Ispliced intothe passenger side resistor.
Anyone with any help/ideas would be appreciated.

the I.C. water pump should turn on
when the key is turned to on or start.
it will stay running until the key is turned
to off.
i would just double check the wiring... this has
happened to other installers as well and it was
just a wiring issue.

I just double checked the wiring. I have the lead for the pump (grey wire ) installed on the side of the connector and not the resistor. Just like the manual shows.
I not saying that I did not wire it wrong, but as far as I can tell it is just like they want it.

Did you install the wire with the fuse to the fuse box. It sounds like you have the negative and positive wires reversed.

Yup, I did the same damn thing when I installed my Whipple. Or I should say, my friend did it
The wires were so covered up with, well, coverings, that he didn't immediately notice that he had the positive and negative reversed. Makes you feel like a real dummy when you figure it out, eh?
