Welcome to the MGW crew. It really IS the best.
+1....
+2. I had the hurst, and never got used to the notchiness of it. Replaced it with a used MGW off of ebay (the seller went 6 speed) and am very pleased with the results. Doesn't look as good as the Hurst, but that can be fixed. Very high quality.
+3 MGW rocks! Just make sure you put red loctite on all the nuts/bolts (but not on the oil drain plug)...

300 bones is pretty steep for a shifter is it really worth it. With me it would be more like 370 after shipping.

Brian, I'm not sure where you are, but my shifter and **** was 389 shipped. I don't think it would be quite that much after shipping for you. FWIW, I'm in CA, they're in GA.

I installed my shifter today, I'm pretty happy with it. About as smooth as it could get, and the adjustability is very nice, considering I might actually perfer less than the full 50% throw reduction. I was very impressed with the packaging and labeling. Top notch.

Though, be forewarned, it's a bit of a knuckle scraper.

Speaking of the MGW shifter, where did you all order yours?

IMO...............a resounding YES!!!!!!!!!! you will not be disappointed and the quality is spot on. No more 3rd gear missed shifts (unless you have FI) then get the shifter and new motor mounts and/or k-member with torque limiters and save on install and do any of them yourself...Taco has write up on most!

To make this shifter even better go to http://www.grapperpony.com and get a shifter ball with the polished shaft for it. I added this to mine and the feel of the shifter is perfect now. Now sure if it's the extra leverage added by the height or what, but I wouldn't go back to the stock shifter/handle, it's just that good!
