Nitrous Question ?
Assuming you have a dual pump setup, plugs, a forged roating assemby, stock head. how much nitrous could this motor handle on 93 pump gas ? of course with a custom tue as well. also, what if i ran a little tank in the trunk with c16 just for the nitrous and 93 in the tank ? i would like to go to a 250-300 hp shot, maybee 150, then a 2nd stage come in. ? i cant afford a 5000+ superchagrerkit, and i dont race the car much as my drive to work is like 3 min away. so i just want it for the track. ive gone 12.8's all motor. its an auto, i have alum ds, upper and lower ca, the usual stuff.
OK, silly question...but how are you going to get a forged rotating assembly installed for under $5k, or am missing something? That being said, I have a guy locally running a custom 2 stage 300hp Shot with forged internals, ported heads, LT's, O/R H pipe, 4.10s out back, and he has probably run 50+ times down the track. If this is your DD, I would be hesitant considering anytime that you are pushing 600+ HP, things are going to break...regardless of how much money you spend.

my point exactly. like i said my drive to work is 3 min, an their bacj streets so no races, my nearest trak is 1.5 hours. on he weekends i rarely find any races, but id like to be able to go to the track run a mid to low 11 second run, and surprise some vettes on the street. i have 17 inch m/t's and skinnies for the track, and nitto 20 inch 305/35/20 drag radials on the streeet, it an auto so it is fun to drive. i wanna know whats the most nitrous i can run on pump gas with a custom tune ? if the supercharger companies claim 175+ plus, and there working all the time, mind you not 100% of course, but i would be using it very rarely. a 2 stage 300 shot on pump would be great if thats possible.
OK, fair enough. I would say that you are still taking a risk running that much N2O, even 1X per week, but each to his own. As far as not needing a tune, most companies say that one is needed for anything over 75HP. I know that everyone I talk to running 100+ shots is running a specific tune for N2O, and a number of them are using forged internals. That being said, I think that I found a solution last week looking to run a 150HP shot. I would look into running (2) DIS-4's from MSD with (4) MSD Dual Ignition Adapters and (2) DIS-4 Harnesses. This should (in theory) allow you to retard your cars timing at the time of the N2O shot, with out having to load a custom tune. It even allows you to program a delay in the return to advanced timing to allow for the N20 to clear from the cylinders. The bad news is that it will run you about $1400.00 in parts. I asked the forum last week about this setup, and got squat for useful information, but according to MSD it should work with most manufactures window switches.
Hope this Helps,
