Boom Tubes Resonance?
I installed the Boom Tubes from Brenspeed on my '08 GT, and for some reason there is this wicked resonance when I start the car up and at low RPM's. It's coming from the rear of the car, and I can't see the exhaust hitting anywhere. It's almost like the buzzing sound you hearwhen some idiot pulls up next to you with a crappy stereo system. Has anybody else had this issue with the Boom Tubes? I'm about ready to send these things back and just get SLP's. Any help/suggestions are appreciated.
Had the same issue. The hanger was like a 1/4 inch away from touching metal. Well at really low rpms it would come under pressure and touch. I took a dremel and shaved some of the bracket off
Thank you for the reply...I'll have to take a closer look. Not to sound like an idiot, butwas itone of the hangers that is welded to the tubes themselves, or part of the factory hanger assemblies, just so I know exactly what I am looking for?
It's disheartening to get a compliment on how great my car sounds (really turns heads with the Boom Tubes and SLP X-pipe/high flow cats), only to pull away and bzzzzzzzz bzzzz bzzz bzzzzzzzzzzz. [sm=bangbang.gif]

I have the same issue. It does it if I put it in gear at low RPMs...but It was because my dad didn't tighten or line up his side that well haha.
I was just gonna take it off myself and do it again...but I figured I was gonna have to install the LT in a couple of days...weeks later...
Oh well, they should finally be coming in pretty soon...so I'll finally fix the problem lol

The ummm metal thing that is welded to your boomtubes is shaped like an upside down L. That piece goes into a bracket that is connected to your car. Now inside that bracket its is rubber so that is not your problem. The arm of that L shape, if too close to your bracket/hanger is touching will rub against the metal that is on the outside of the rubber UGGHHH ill have to take pics. I have a total of 4 of these little arms 2 on each side. one of them was 1/4 inch close which was enought to rub.
Ok, I found the culprit...it is the forward exhaust bracket (mounted to the car, not the part that is welded to the pipe) on the driver's side. It looks like a 2 piece setup, and the outer sheet metal is rattling against the main bracket. Anybody else run into this? Maybe I'll try to put some silicone between there.
I had the boom tubes added last week and had the same problem. The left axle back was the issue. One of the hangers would touch the car flange. When the exhaust warmed up after about 15 minutes it would rattle when I went over a bump. The sound was metal on metal, like a high pitched squeak. The mechanic used a crow bar and bent the L shaped hanger so that it had better clearance. I hope others with boom tubes read this post. Now that the problem is fixed I look forward to the end of day so that I can hear that deep burble as I make my way home.
