Default Kooks LT with X or H Pipe

Howdy,

I am getting ready to order some Kooks LT headers from Brenspeed for my 08 Auto GT. I was told by my mechanic that an X pipe would help me build a little bit more bottom end torque as opposed to the H pipe. I will be running the high flow cats regardless of which route I take. I have also heard ( by heard I mean read in here)that the X pipe might cause some trumpeting with my Stingers. Any recommendations as to which way to go? Is there really any difference between X and H other than sounds? Will the H pipe sound deeper? Any comments are really appreciated.

Regards and thanks! P.S. I think my mods are just about to outrun my wallet!

Although many will say there is a "performance" difference between the two, I've read in one reputable magazine that its really down to the riders preference in sound quality. Even if there were a difference performance wise, it would minimal and not very significant. I am in no way an expert. But I do know from personal experience, the H has a much deeper "old school" sound as opposed to an X. I have an H setup for that one reason alone. You can't go wrong with either setup in my opinion, good luck!

Yes, X will be higher in pitch compared to the H. The X is actually a little better for your top end power of out 3 valves, not the low end, however the difference isn't anythig you will feel. Get the H or the X for sound preference alone.
