Default Whipple Install

Getting ready to order the whipple. Just want to know from anyone that has installed there own, how complicated is it? I have printed in color the whipple install book and seems pretty detailed, but is there anything else I will need? I want to have it dyno tuned but wont I need a starter tune to be able to drive it to get dynoed. I think it comes with one but will that take into account my other mods? What guages will I need? Any info would be appreciated.

gauges are not needed, but i got them for peace of mind
WB a/f would be the most important, then boost, and fuel pressure. IMO

How hard is it to install the gauges? Im sure I can figure it out but doesnt the W/B need a bung welded into the tail pipe?

check out that link for a nice write up on gauge installs
the bung you can get installed by a muffler guy for about 50 bucks

The instructions are very good...just follow them and think things through. I'd suggest running with the FRPP/Whipple tune until you get a dyno tune.

Will the whipple supplied tune be OK with my O/R H pipe? Just dont want it to throw a code and go into limp mode.

The Whipple/FRPP tune will throw codes with your O/R H pipe (I asked Whipple before) because the rear O2 sensors are still on (CARB certification has its drawbacks). It won't put your car into limp mode as far as I know.

Installing a Whipple on your own isn't too bad. Read the instructions from front to back several times before you begin. Having a friend to help to put the supercharger in place on the intake manifold is very helpful. As far as gauges go, a wideband A/F is nice to have. I also have a boost gauge and an Aeroforce scan gauge in my car. Oil and/or fuel pressure would be good choices as well.
Here's a link to my write-up of when I installed my Whipple. It looks like a little bit of my post has been cut off at the end, but most of it is still there. Hopefully, it will give you a heads up on some of the little pitfalls that can happen along the way.

i see you have an 08, did whipple give you any updated instructions (not to sure if any real changes were made for your year) i have an 07 and some of the instructions did not applyin my case, but i am not really sure about the 08 kits as they are a different kit.
