Default Vortech supercharger questions...

I'm thinking of getting a Vortech supercharger, but I don't have much $$$ to spend. I saw on the website http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...amp;cat_key=11there was a model 4FU218-110SQfor $3353 and I was wondering what came with it. I was thinking of just getting the supercharger kit not polished and withought the cooler and withought the tuner seeing how I already have an X CAL 3, will this still give good gains? Is the cooler nessassary? Did you have toput in better suspensionor anything else when installing this? Where can I get the best deal? Thanks

First of all the kit that cost that much is only the tuner kit. That means it doesn't come with better spark plugs, better fuel injectors, or any fuel pump upgrade. These things are things that you need to upgrade when you put in a S/Cer. Most people that buy tuner kits are guys that don't want to use the 3 things metioned above that come with the kit from vortech, They will put there own upgrades in with the kit. I bought my non intercooled vortech S/Cer from brenspeed. They buy the tuner kits from vortech and put there own upgrades in them that they claim get you better numbers then the upgrades that come with the vortech kit from vortech. I got great numbers from getting this kit (400+rwhp) but I now want more so I am buying an intercooler from vortech. If you buy the brenspeed package like I did and you already have the tuner, they will take off money from the price of the package. Here check it out., never mind they dont have it anymore. Well the three things that I mentioned are things that your going to want to upgrade when you get a S/Cer. You'll see good numbers from a non intercooled kit, but you lose a lot of hp when your car gets to operating temp. You dont have to upgrade your suspension, but it would be a good idea to keep the hp to the ground. Buy the tuner kit, but make sure you get the things that are missing before you try and install it.

If I had to guess cause I don't know a number for sure, I bet you lose atleast 40 rwhp from what you would have if the engine was cool. Prob 360 to 380 rwhp. My best advice would to be to hold off, save a little more money and get the cooler too. This way you'll put down the same numbers even when the engine is hot. The cooler brings the temp of the air going into the engine down 200 degrees. Also its not as dangerous to up the boost when you have a cooler on there as well. Take it from me man I had the non cooled kit for a week and I already knew I made a mistake not getting the kit with the cooler.
