stock 3.31's and cai/brenspeed tune I had no problems spinning first, getting a small spin 1-2, and getting a nice little chirp 2-3.
4.10's and now I get a little spin going 2-3. But as previously mentioned that's not a good thing either.

The 3.55 option costs $300 for 2008's and 2009's, not worth it for enthusiasts.

you have the same ballooney tires that i have. 55 sidewall, that's pretty big ( i think stock is 50). in addition, you've got the 3.31's, which don't help much. if your just trying to "spin the tires," well, from a first gear roll my car hooks up pretty well, so i'm not sure why you'd want to spin the tires, other than to know you can.

get some 4.10's and all these issues will be cut in 1/4. god knows i want some 4.10's.

I have 3.55s and the pirelli 235/55.

How do you get the tires to spin going into 2nd gear? I can get them to spin in 1st from a dig if I rev high enough and let the clutch out quickly. But when time comes to shift into 2nd it is usually pretty smooth for me. Am I not dumping the clutch fast enough then?

Well I finally decided that I just need some 3.73s. I did some gear calculations and highway testing and it seems the 3.73s should be tame enough on the highway for me (plus they put them in the bullit anyways). I'm getting some FRPP 3.73s installed next thursday for around $450 parts and labor. I'll post reactions after I get to romp on it a couple times.

damn ford went up on the price. on my 07 it was only a $100 option. but even $300 is lower than the $450 he was quoted.

you won't notice much of a difference going from 3.31 to 3.73's you could have put a nitous kit on for the money.

OP... i had the same expectations when i bought my car. I thought i could spin my tires easily with 300 hp. Didn't happen. I thought it was because of the 275/40/20s i had on there. Those do help alot with the traction. When i was stock i chirped 1-2nd often. Not every time, but pretty often. I even got a chirp 2-3nd ONCE. Lol... anyway.. i got the mod bug, ordered intake and tune..now i chirped 1-2nd alot harder. Pretty consistent too. Next big improvement was the 4.10s.. oh boy. The tires wont break loose from a roll, but the 1-2nd shift is extremely easy to break em loose...

Anyway.. that is pretty useless information to you due to the 275s, with the mods in my sig, (BEFORE LTS) ... my friend wanted to borrow my 20s just for ****s and giggles because he just got his gt... yeah right.. anway he offered me his wheels + $500 if i let him borrow my wheels for a year. I was like dude, i wont get traction... he argued that i would easily... so i got annoyed and told him im coming over and if i do get traction, he can borrow my wheels. I made him put 2 stock wheels / tires on and i went out for a drive... 1st gear, didnt matter if it was a roll or a stop, i spun ALL of 1st, and going WOT into 2nd i spun ALL of 2nd. I let off after 2nd because it was a 30mph zone and i had proven my point to him. Not going to lie though, it was fun
