Default Well add another to the Whipple hot rod cam crew

Well I finished installing these cams today. The install went well. I had alot of questions and Hammeron answered everyone of them. Dealing with the cam followers and the removing and installing of the valve covers seem like the hardest part to me. Because it was so tight. But I took things slow and it eventually came together. These cams do need a tune so I will be getting one of those next week. I took a before video and then an after so you could see the difference. All in all I am very happy with them. But hopefully they will be even better once I get the tune. If anyone has questions I will try and answer them.

Wow, that sounds fantastic!

Do cams combined with a s/c give you more hp than if you were to just add cams to a n/a motor?

Well the cams would need be a different grind for FI. The cams that give good gains for N/A may not give any with FI. In fact, some that are for N/A could cause you to lose boost. I'm not sure if the Hot Rods will do that though. The LSA for FI should be between 112 and 114 with higher lift/duration on the exhaust side. I don't have the hot rod specs in front of me so I can't say how good or bad they'll perform with a blower.

But, I'm sure one could take the specs of the Hot Rod and have someone make a new grind based off those but tweaked for FI. That would be interesting. But you probably wouldn't get the same idle as blowers tend to lessen that.
