Default FRPP Stingers - break-in period?

PLEASE tell me FRPP Stingers have a break-in period. I just put 'em on and damn the drone is killing me. I though I wasn't a wuss, but GEEZ... I won't be able to live with this.

I've got a catted X-pipe that's in the mail. If they don't sound better with that I'm gonna sell these Stingers and go Corsa.

Drone will only get worse. I sold mine and installed GTA's. No more drone. The stingers did look good and sound good though

That's why I spent the extra money for Corsas. Just as loud as stingers at WOT, but no drone.

Open the windows, drive faster or downshift to a lower gear. They only drone in the 1600 to 1900 range. LOL!

HA - I hear drone from 1,000-2,000 rpm when in a high gear under load. Which is to say when I drive conservatively all I hear is drone. Dammit.

So how about that catted x-pipe. Tell me a catted x-pipe will mellow it out. I know its supposed to change the tone - make it a little higher.

Maybe I'm just sensitive to drone. I heard drone in my stock mufflers, although it wasn't loud drone at all.

After I installed the FRPP stingers I was a bit disappointed with the sound at first. It was quieter than I expected, but after about three weeks of driving they seemed to get louder and have more of a rumble. Mine have a drone when I drive between 1300-1900 in 5th gear. Above 1900 the drone is gone - the faster you drive the less drone you'll have

You might have a leak somewhere.

But they drone, and it's annoying
sometimes, but just do as the others
said, downshift or get 4.10's. Opening
the windows helps a lot too.

If you drive conservatively, the drone
is going to kill you! Drive Fast!

Ohh man...I LOVE the drone! Just make sure you're not talking on the phone ROFL.
For some additional fun, install a subwoofer and you can get some crazy modulated frequencies if you pick the right songs.

Seriously, I only think it's annoying every once in a while, and then I just downshift or speed up. Generally, I love the sound.

To each their own I guess...

What Catdiesel said. I've had mine for about 3000 miles and they are starting to sound better and better!!
