Angry fuel system problem

i have had a fuel problem since i bought my 07 gt last year. this time in the shop they put a fuel filter, inertia switch, and did a motor vac. previously it had the tank dropped, cleaned, fuel pump replaced twice (dont think they did it), and numorus filters. now the car is doing the same thing again. it pulls fine untill 5k rpm then falls on its face. then it will start falling on its face untill it wont pull over 3k rpm and will not accelerate if you give it over 1/8 on throtle. i have all ready spent a grand on this car and it is starting to **** me off. it only seems to do it when the fuel is low but sometimes it dont do it at all. anyone had this problem or have a sujestion of what to try. i am going to ford monday and buying a new fuel pump and putting it in myself. thanks for any help

Stang gang- want to let us know if it has a warranty even if it was bought used it should have a warranty.....take it in to Ford dealer more than 3 times for the same thing could get you a new vehicle with "lemon laws" in your state.....JMO but contact a lawyer and see if it is possible....

Yeah man, you shouldn't spend a cent for a 07. To me that sounds like a fuel pump problem, I had this same exact problem on a Ford probe it only died on me like you say at high rpms when tank was low on gas.

Someone at the dealership should be able to hook a computer up tot he car and watch the fuel pump duty cycle and other paprameters associated with it. They should be able to tell if it's the pump, a relay or wiring or even the tune. If the dealership does not have someone, then they can have you come back when a special tech is there to do it for you.

I have had Ford engineers sit in my work car and do data logging with a lap top while I drive. They have even put in stand alone computer to watch data over a few days. Just throwing parts at a problem won't always fix it.

Is your car out of warrunty?

well it has a warrenty but ford claims the tank has contamination in it. i bought a new fuel pump and replaced it myself now it runs great. oh called ford and they said according to the dealership its not a manafacture problem so they wouldnt do anything about it either. did i mention the ps pump went out, they fixed it under warrenty and in the process f-ed up my a/c? now thats all fixed. good thing i love this car!!!
