Default fuse replacement

Just tried to change some user parameters with my SCT XCAL, I blew the cluster fuse and am struggling to get the fuse box open. I took the trim off near the right lower side of the passenger foot well but can't get the fuse box cover off - anyone done this?, I don't want to force it...usually ends in tears..

Thanks,

There should just be a little access panel and then the actual fuse cover you can get off with a little screw driver.

Yes!!!! I had the same problem (good thing I am a pro at this)!!!

On the passenger's side, you will see a flap, pull it off and there is a small black box in there down low.

push in the tabs on the side of box, pull it off, and you'll see the 20 fuses in it.

Your blown fuse is #8.

Its a 10 amp mini fuse (red in color) Get a couple new ones from an auto store.

Problem fixed!

Yeah- I know exactly what you're talking about - I'll try again tomorrow, I could see the side tabs just struggled to get my fingers in to the side tab closest to the door opening,

Thanks,

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I recently blew that fuse twice. In fact, I blow that fuse 50% of the time I plug in my Xcal2?

Do you have any other aftermarket electrical devices? If I leave my Sirius receiver powered up (it is hard wired into the car and not using the cigarette lighter cord) I blow that fuse whenever I use the Xcal. As long as I turn the power off on the Sirius the fuse is no problem.

Try turning off any other aftermarket electrical devices first. And that fuse is a pain to get to - I found it easier to pull the sill plate and then pull the passenger side foot well cover off completely helped. A lot to undo, but much easier to pull the cover off the fuse box, and to pull the correct fuse because it is easier to see.
