Default JLT/BAMA TUNE

Today I installed my intake, and want to share my 2cents, plus I had a few questions.

I don't wana say this modd is overrated, because when you think about it, there a ton of improvements w/ just a intake/tune however there a lot of hype about it on this forum to the point where you expect it to pull like u add a sc

I love the throttle response, and i know many people believe the throttle too touchy w/ the race tune, however I believe it's perfect. (rev matching easy)

most of your "butt" horsepower is on the higher RPM range.

running into a few problems though,
I discovered that my intake came lose while driving (because my car was stalling) I ran home, and my heat shield is pushing my filter off the "tube" or whatever that connects to the elbow, so I had to take it off, and now it doesn't stall however, when i put the clutch in while slowing down, the rpm goes to 500 bounces back to 750, does it again, then correct its idle, any suggestions on the shield and idle issue?

Also, has anyone replace their fog light bulb b4? Icant get to it...

I had the dealer replace the fog light bulb. But on the JLT/Bama tune problem, I had the exact same problem. After installing the JLT and driving for about 3-5 miles the car stalled. Problem was a loose connection. As far as tunes are concerned. I don't have a favorite. The race tune does have the best throttle response, but on the 1/8 mile track (that is all we have in San Diego), the tq tune results in the best times.

I've started using the torque tune, and for my own comparison it's much more suited to daily driving. There's a really nice punch that starts at around 2,500 RPMs compared to the performance tune.

Never had the idle problem (I'm an auto). I can say that I never had my stuff come loose. Tighten it up man.

Remove the radiator cover and then remove the 2 bolts that hold the top of the grill, if I recall. It was a bit tight but you can tilt the grill forward and get your hand in there to get to the fog light bulb.

Nice, thanks. Did it today, pain in the...even though my intake took longer, the level of pain in the a$$ was not even close to the fog lights.

There's a procedure in the owner's manual for settling down idle rpm fluctuations. I believe it's in the section for changing the battery.

RPM flux is a common issue for the manual cars.

I have had it on both of my S197's and even after they were tuned by BAMA, it still happned.

For the filter issue, wipe off the inside ring of the filter where its going to touch the intake tube, and clamp it down tight. Mine had a bit of excess filter oil in that location from shipping, which made it slippery.

Hmmm......I have a Bama tune, and it's rock steady, even with the air on. The only time it fluctuates is after I reinstall the tune, and that lasts for only a few miles.
