So I installed the bassani modular x-pipe w/ high flow cats and now i have rattle/vibration. Basically, when i start up in the morning there is a rattle when a start driving and giving only a minimal amount of throttle. If I give it half no rattle. It sounds like it is coming from the right side of the drivers foot well. I looked at the downpipe off the header on that side and could not see any where it could be rubbing against something. After the car is up to operating temp the sound goes away. I have tightened the clamps on the exhaust again, but the car was not totally cooled down at the time. Any ideas would be appreciated its very annoying.

You might check where the trans. cross member is if the hanger brackets are not completely centered in the rubber grommets the exhaust will vibrate like crazy.

That happens on me and one of my friend's S197's. I thought it was just part of the 'stang tradition.

 

Same rattling issue only when cold (1992 LX 5.0). Issue was in one of my near newly installed Bassani BX mufflers ;-(

 

Hell mine has had a weird rattling/ringing sound when cold since it was bone stock, I have yet to figure it out.
