Default Flowmaster issue

I was waxing my car today and decided to check out my Flows. It's kinda hard to explain, but I looked inside both mufflers and the chambers are completely rusted through. Is this common for these? I'm thinking about getting some Pypes Violators if these are pooping out on me.

How many miles and how old are they? Check your warranty.

That's one of the reasons I went with the Stingers, Stainless steel. I've had factory SS exhausts on some of my exports that were still on the car and in decent shape after 200,000 miles.

I bought the car in August with them already on. By the looks of them they've been on a while. I saw that the Pypes Violators are stainless. They sound pretty good too from what I've seen.

I've heard of this happening depending on location. My car has been through 2 NJ salty winters with the flows and although there's a little surface rust in certain places, they are still solid!

Flow masters always have been known for rusting from the in side out and after that paints gone its gone get cancer on the out side too. My brother inlaws flows did the same crap (we live in south jersey) now he has borlas. I have Gta's i expect no issues

9000 miles on mine and still love them. No chipping or rusting yet. I do not drive in the rain and certainly not in the snow though.

I'm from Monmouth County. Mine have some surface rust on the corners of the mufflers but the inside has nothing on it

I hear ya, they do sound great-especially when paired with other exhaust parts to make it louder
