Yes, that is true...but the top end is rather magical LOL

i just put in my ****** thumpers in over the weekend and man i love the lope..would do it over again in a heart beat..i do have the 3.55's and yes i highly reccomend at least 3.73's for these...i have to be in 4th on the freeway at 60 mph instead of 5th and at 70 i can be in 5th but i can look past the pain for now...she really does love the higher rpm's now and beyond 3k pulls like no other...i too lost 2mpg but was pretty much uneffected on the highway driving but it is alot harder to keep your foot out of it...btw it definately made my car louder....im running stock axleback with brenspeed offroad x and mac long tubes and it sounds great but almost too loud for my taste

a buddy of mine just had the ***** thumpers installed and all i can say is wow! he has flows, with LTs and off road X pipe, and it was the most bad *** s197 ive ever heard!

i will say this though, if you are doing this upgrade also upgrade the valve covers at the same time. my buddy was kicking himself for not doing this!
