Default Exhaust material

What's the difference in coatings/materials for the different exhaust pieces? I see there's different coatings and grades of SS offered for most of the pieces I'm looking at, are they worth it? While I'm most curious about headers, I'd wanted to shy away from the LT vs Shorty debate.

I live in Las Vegas and we don't get a lot of weather variance, I don't imagine I'll be encountering a lot of rust; is $200 for a titanium (or similar) upgrade worth it? Do I really need JetHot?

304 SS is the best. for the headers, ceramic coating is worth it bc it helps w/ temps and keeps the headers looking like new longer. w/out the ceramic coating it'll turn color real quick.

I'm not going to be showing the car, so changing color isn't too large an issue. But as for keeping temps down, that means in the engine bay right, not of the exhausted gasses?

yes in the engine bay....the faster the exhaust gas move out the motor and out the back (well side for me) the cooler the under hood temps will be and less chance of heat soak which robs engine power (among other things)

You'd be surprised how much cooler the coating will keep your engine bay and interior floorboard / firewall. I didn't really think much about it cause I got the Jet Hot coating for free, but it really helps.

That much heat will seep into the firewall and floorboard?! No Bueno!
It's so tough, I mean it nearly doubles the price....back on the fence.

There is a little bit of shielding in that area under the car, might be a little better than the fox body insulation. My feet were always toasty in my old stang with no coating on the longtubes

I installed my Bassani catted-X about 300mi ago and I'm waiting for it to "break-in" since I remember my axle-backs doing the same thing. Its made me far more aware of the differences in metals...
