hi ...

hi all , i have a problem with my mustang GT 2005 , it's a stock ... i have check ingine light so i do a dtc read by SCT then i have this message

code # P0340

camshaft position (cmp) A ckt (b1 or single sensor )

so any one can help me about this because i change the camshaft sensor then i clear the dtc after 1 hour it;s show again the same code

please help me

This code indicates a problem with the camshaft position circuit, the whole thing the sensor itself, wiring or pcm. Outside of the sensor itself failing you could also have the following conditions.

* a wire or connector in the circuit could be grounded/shorted/broken
* the PCM may have failed
* there exists an open circuit
* the crankshaft position sensor may have failed

So obviously if you replace the sensor and the problem returned then that's not it. So you want to check the wiring for continuity make sure the sensor is in operating voltage, also check the voltage and wiring of the crank position sensor.

There is a history of experience of bad alternators flipping that code. I would check the ALT too if I were you.

thanx all , i fix the problem it was the altenator ,, when this code found just chick the altenator ,, i change it and every thing is ok
