Default I need some help on my Exaust..

I want to get headers, but cant decide between shorties and LT's... and cant decide what pipe i want .. and also the mufflers... im very indecisive right now .... what i have decided is that i want an off road pipe but will i need resonaters to control the noise? or will a good muffler be enough? which headers give you more output ? ive searched alot of forms and people tell me to go with the LT's but still not sure.. and what brands are good for the pipes.. i think im sticking with Mac for my headers because i have a friend that works there that will get me a good price . I really appreciate the help you guys!

ps. im going for the Old Muscle car sounds , i dont want it too loud or too suddle i want it somewhere in between. and im more so going for performance. i think the H pipe really sounds good love to hear some Opinions and experience with the brands.

I have Bassani LT's. If I put on LT's again, I would do Kooks.

However, I'm not sure I would every put on LT's again. I'm saving for a supercharger which will be capable of making more power than the engine could ever handle, so power is a moot point for me.

I had O2 issues that took months to work out. I had fitment problems to fight. Kooks makes all that easier.....but for my money doing it over I'd probably stick with shorties. The hp difference isn't a lot. No O2 issues there at all. Fitment I think is not a problem either. Much, much cheaper too.

Oh and I still have reduced ground clearance that is never going to get better. No ground clearance issues for sure with shorties.

Unless you are using forced induction with multiple mods, your stock headers are more than capable of removing the exhaust. If you are really wanting more performance there are many other mods out there such as gears, pulleys, CAI w/ tune, cmdp's, ect. Don't get me wrong, headers are great and do give you more hp but for the price there are other things more effective and the stock headers were designed pretty well. The best sound I have found so far is Flowmaster axle back with off road h-pipe.

if you are going w/ the mac, then get the LT's better performance from LT's. go w/ the mac prochamber also, and then the mufflers are up to you, mac sound good, borla, or magnapacks. if you want not so loud go w/ the magnaflow AB.

I agree with Darren05. The Stock Headers are very sufficient for N/A cars. If you do get headers, go with Shorty's. they are less of a hassell, and you'll get some sound and a little performance from them. I have a custom X-pipe and IMCO cherrybomb (flowmaster 40's) on my GT, and Wow....what a difference. The sound is amazing :-) smile everytime i pass someone
