Default octane for V8

what gas is everyone using in their GT's? I keep hearing that premium will leave deposits in your engine... The manual calls for regular, but I'm just curious what would truly be best for it. Thanks. Oh, also, Synthetic oil worth it?

from the factory, the GT calls for regular but once you start adding mods and the performance tune, you will need to upgrade to supreme

Can't comment on the gas as of today, but I do plan on running 91 octane when I add my new tune later this summer. I am a strong believer in Synthetic oils though. The oil is the life blood of your engine. Why would you not run the best oil you could buy? You wouldn't buy a cheap parachute or cheap SCUBA gear would you? You think the guys driving the high end exotics are running Quarker State? I vote "yes" on your Synthetic question.

I always run supreme on our Mustangs, Fbodies, and Vettes (that aren't our race specific vehicles). The higher the octane the less chance of pinging etc.

I ran 87 until I put the CAI and Predator 91 tune in it.

Once again, your GT is set up to run on 87 octane. If you do mods, specifically engine mods, like Supercharging or Turbo, then follow the part manufacturer's recommendations.
Unless you have 20-30 cents/gallon to waste...
