Default headers?? Long or short

Hey all,
So I just got my first mods done....Corsa Extreme ABS, Steeda CAI and SCT tune, and a MGW short shifter. It sounds good but not loud enough at idle or going slow..actually kinda quiet. When you step on it it sounds amazing but.... What next????
Do I do a catted X pipe with Short tube JBA cermaic headers say?? Will short throw headers alone make her sound much better? Do I do long or short and what's the difference? Thanks so much for any advice!!!! Do you lose low end torque with headers?

Here is my car with corsa sport axlebacks, jba ceramic shorty headers, and stock h-pipe.

The headers actually made the car more quiet on the highway and at low rpms, b/c it provided more torque which required less load on the engine for cruising. At WOT, it sounds mean as hell. I added an O/R H pipe to make it louder after that and the exhaust now sounds good at low rpms, but at WOT, it looses its quality and just gets loud as f*ck! I am going to put the stock h-pipe back on this week b/c running with no cats is just asking for trouble with how loud it is.

Ok so if the headers won't make her much louder.....what about just changing to a magnaflow catted X pipe? supposed to be high flow.....will that without the headers make her louder?

to make the most difference in loudness, remove the cats. LT's will make it a little louder at WOT, but not much w/ regular driving.

I read that LTs make more power over the shorties but they may have trouble passing emissions (??) They have catted H/X pipes but it's still no guarantee on passing.

If you REALLY want loud, I'd go shorty headers, off road H-pipe and exhaust cut outs.

I have cut outs, they are ridiculously loud and get's nasty loud during WOT.. rattles the whole underneath of my car lol.

(not my car)

If you want louder get some different axlebacks as the corsa are pretty much opposite of what you are looking for. They are quiet at lower RPMs and such but wake up when you get on it basically. To get louder with the corsa's you need to go to an o/r pipe which will not pass emissions since you get rid of the cats. You can get catted or an o/r LT setup but neither will give you a huge increase in the area you are looking for.

Look into stingers (borla or FRPP), MAC or bassani for a louder all around axleback

An offroad h-pipe will make it plenty loud even with the corsa mufflers. You can't tell from youtube videos, but it gets a LOT louder. I didnt believe people until I installed mine. Plus they only cost $140 shipped from brenspeed and are an easy diy install.

Yeah I actually feel much happier today. The corsas are just quiet inside the car but sound awesome as you pull away...I think I just wanted a but more at idle. I have gotten a ton of random compliments though form people that don't even know I just got it all done. My boss heard it and drove it and loves it...he has a Corvette Z06 and now wants the corsas.....I will think about the O/R H pipe...in Virginia and don't have emmisions testing
