Default Clutch Question

Need to know what clutch I should get. Looking at about 500rwhp. I know people had problems with certain clutchs but cant remember what ones. Aluminum or steel flywheel? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

PM or email me for pricing on the new Exedy USA Mach500 unit. (pricing NOT on our site) Paired with a billet steel flywheel, you will not have any of the harmonics from the aluminum units and the pedal feel is great with almost no first gear chatter! Seriously a bad *** system. Exedy is the choice for even Ford Racing now. And we have them cheaper than anyone.

I'm still happy with my spec stage 2 with their billet steel flywheel. It's supposed to be good to 599 ft lbs. I'd stick with the steel flywheel. My spec flywheel actually reduced some engine vibrations, not sure an aluminum will reduce vibrations.

I don't think any clutch manufacturers rate their products using rwhp and most use torque values.

Seems most here with Fi and aftermarket clutches have liked the Mcleod RST the most. Spec 2, Spec 3+, Centerforce DFX seem to be the most popular.

I had an RPS unit and liked it okay, no chatter and held good but the ppedal pressure sucked. My Mcleod unit is quiet, as light or lighter than stock pedal and can hold 800 hp.

Sactown has probably made 150-200 passes on his clutch and it works as well as the first day he put it in.

I just had a spec 3+ with the "low pedal requirement" put in my car along with my motor build and it's unbelievebly light. I'm still breaking it in so I can't comment on how it truely feels yet. Definately on/off right now, but for such a strong clutch with less that 100 miles on it, that's to be expected. I've also got their billet steel flywheel as well.

Thanks guys. I am getting a price for the exedy unit, but am leaning towards the Mcleod RST. Has anyone used the RXT model? Also how do I know if i need a 10 spline or a 26 spline?
