Default Shaker Hoods... Do they shake?

I want to purchase a used 2006 Mustang gt and the first mod that I would like to do is install a shaker hood because it looks so retro and muscle. Now does the hood actually shake? Most cars when you rev the engine don't shake unless its an old muscle car. Also is there a sound difference? Do you hear more noise coming from the actual engine and not the exhaust system?

No. It will torque over when you start the car or get on the throttle, but it doesn't actually "shake" any more than the rest of the car.

If you've got a lumpy enough cam!! lol But no it will not on a remotely stock car.

That's basically it.
It is fun to see it move with the engine when you get on it.

Like bigblue said, with a radical cam (which doesn't really exists for these cars), it'd be shaking!

Check out the video my son made in our Mach 1. I know it's not the exact same model car but it'll give you a good idea of how much (or little) the shaker moves.

Yeah but you only see that when you're really getting on it. We have a shaker on our 2007 GT/CS as well and I don't think it moves as much. It is an automatic though so I'm sure that makes a difference.

What about sound? Does it sound any better or stronger with the added intake noise? Or is there any added intake noise?

We already had the CAI installed before we added the shaker on the 07 so I can't answer with certainty but I don't think you'd get much extra sound from the shaker alone plumbed into the stock airbox. I know the CAI alone made a noticeable difference in sound and I didn't really note much additional sound with the addition of the shaker.

No additional sound or noise when you add the Shaker scoop.
This should be added as an appearance mod, it just looks cool.
I do get a slight amount of extra cool airflow into my CAI filter, but there is no real HP gains either.
