Big difference from my F body, will the ford racing supercharger get me there?whats the safest supercharger that I can bolt on and not have to redo the short block?Im trying to get as much as I can without opening the engine.

People have hit low 12s without a supercharger. It's just easier to get there that way.

Personally, at sea level, I'd be damn disappointed if I didn't get into the 11s with a supercharger.

As far as "safe" goes the whipple with the canned tune is probably your best bet. It could still explode though. There are no guarantees.

just to add to this a little. Boost levels are the main issue really. Pushing to much boost with out a strong bottom end is a sure fire way to have a bad day. Don't quote me on this, but on a stocker 8-10 lbs is usually anout the limit. Like i said, don't quote me, I could be wrong.

That's the conventional wisdom. Sometimes they go anyway and with even less boost than that.

Cars have blown up on the dyno with as little as 360whp so it's always a crap shoot. I'm sure someone out there has put 12psi through a stock motor and been fine for a very long time, even after some abuse. Just a luck of the draw thing, up to a point anyway.

The edelbrock is fine but if I were you I'd get the whipple if you can afford it. Go to lethal's website and check out the new generation 2 models. Very impressive.

We offer several packages that can easily get you into the low 12's and more like in the 11's. All of our kits are capable of those numbers at a safe boost level. A Brenspeed stage 3 Saleen typically turns mid 11's on 93 octane at sea level. Our Brenspeed E-force stage 0 puts out similar number as well. As for a centrifugal sc, our Paxton Novi 2200 and our Vortech V3 HO kit will also run 12's very easy and are easier on the engine do to the lower torque numbers off the line. Give us a call if you have any questions or feel free to PM my with questions.
