Default Moroso Inter cooler Can Install

I just installed a new Moroso Inter Cooler can with a 2.6L Kenne Bell set up. I got tired of loosing tenths off my times when the temp rises. I will be testing it this weekend but the temp here will be much cooler than last weekend. I also installed hose insulation on most of the exposed inter cooler hoses (see pics). I have a single 60-210 temp gauge with a toggle switch between two senders. One in the intake and the other is right after the inter cooler fluid leaves the Ice tank and enters the heat exchanger under the intake (see first pic, it's against the firewall). I insulated this hose and around the sender as well. What do you think?

THe extra fluid should help with the IATs. Are you measuring the IATs after the blower or just pre-blower?

I was thinking about adding the same unit, but decided to go with an upgraded intercooler for my Whipple to avoid having to relocate the battery. I picked up the new ARCO dual pass with dual Spal fans to install this weekend.

I am measuring directly before the supercharger. If you look at the first pic at the top it's the switch sticking out of the pipe insulation with the purple and grey wire coming out. This should also tell me when the Ice has melted since it's right after the water exits the tank. I also thought about installing an upgraded heat exchanger but that will still only lower your temps to just over outside air temp. The Ice should keep it around 40 to 50 as long as the ice is present. As long as my 60 degree guage doesn't register till after the run, then I'm happy. I put a 3000 converter in the car after the 11.46 run and because the outside air temps were up by 10 to 15, the et fell back to 11.53 best on 20 March. My 60 ft has decreased from 1.65 to 1.59 so the car should be in the 11.30's or 11.20's with good air and the Ice tank installed. First run tomorrow at VMP Park should be around 45-48 degrees air temp outside. That coupled with the Ice tank should get me kicked off the track. They were not paying attention when I went 11.46 and 11.49 on 6 March. Cage and harnesses are next.

Those are some nice numbers. Were those on the Nitto's? I bet you would shave a few more tenths with some MTs. Be sure to update with the new numbers and the can after your run. I will probably go this route in the future as well and would like the info!

As an aside, I installed the Aeroforce Intercepter gauge specifically to monitor the post blower IATs. I had to R&R and drill and tap the intake manifold, but instant access to the IAT numbers is nice.

Yea, the 11.40's and 11.50's were on the Nitto NT05R's. My previous best with stock Nitto 555's all around, which are still on the Front, 285x40x18's, was 11.75 @ 118, 1.75 60 ft last year. I'm leaving the line around 2200 rpm, and the car seems to not be spinning at all. In fact, when I do the dry hop, the car feels like it wants to pick the front wheels up. Everyone at the track that comes up to me in the pits say it hooks really hard off the line and moves like hell through the 330 ft. 1/8 mile best was 7.31. at the same time it went 11.46. I just hope they give me a few runs before kicking me off the track. $30.00 is a lot of money for one pass.

I just got back from the track. The track had water coming up through the cracks on the big end so I only got one 1/4 mile pass... the rest were 1/8 mile. First pass 1.61 60 ft, 7.266 1/8 94.05, 11.44 118.20 MPH. My best 1/8 mile only run was a 7.287 at 93.88 and 1.591 60 ft. I got kicked off the track after the starter saw me go 7.49 in the 1/8 and told me one more pass faster than 7.50 and i'm gone. Thats when I went 7.287 @ 93.88. A guy at the track said he would put a weld in cage in for $800.00 cash. I saw the job he did on his and it looked awesome with a certification label. I'm uploading a video right now.. will have it up in a moment.
