Electrical Problems
Have you added any type of iPod adapter to the Shaker system? I installed one of those iSimple interfaces and other than being a "Kludgy" solution, it made my cluster freak out and display all kinds of weirdness. Car wouldn't start. Whoa! That in turn FREAKED me out! Luckily no damage was done. I yanked the wires out and managed to get home to do a proper "De-installation" pronto. LOL
hmmm... interesting discussion going on...
1) Yes I did add an iPod adapter, the PIE unit, added it like 3 weeks ago though.
2) The alternator was replaced less than 5k miles ago so i'd be stumped if that was the problem. Also when the alternator went out it didn't make the turn signals short out the way that they did this time.
Hopefully she'll be fixed and back on the road soon..

talked to the ford dealer this morning, they said it was a bad pcm module telling the alternator to not activate under 3k... since the tuners are vin locked i shouldn't lose my tune right?

Err...if they replace the PCM you're probably going to end up with a different strategy code, in which case:
1. All of your tunes will be useless.
2. Your tuner will be in a locked state and I'm not sure how you can get it back, since the car will be stock and the tuner will think the car has an aftermarket tune in it.
Your best best is to find some way to get to the car a return it to the stock tune, which will unlock the tuner. Before you go (if you don't already know it), take note of the strategy code using the SCT. Once the dealership is done with the work, plug the SCT in and check the strategy. If it has changed DO NOT LOAD ANY TUNES. Take this new strategy code to your tuner, explain the situation, and hopefully they will change your tune files to match the new PCM.

157db: I suppose you're right about that possibility. I've never heard anyone tell of a dealership ever doing something like this; I assumed they wouldn't do it, but you know what assuming does....
It still doesn't matter. If that SCT tune is installed, then the tuner is "locked". When you load the SCT tune into the car's computer, the stock tune gets saved to the SCT device, and the device knows that it is locked. When you "return to stock", you are doing the reverse, and the device knows that it is unlocked.

well i picked my car up from the dealership today and... its still f**cked. I didn't even make it off the lot before i realized it was not fixed at all so after driving 3 hours from La Jolla (San Diego) to Oxnard (Ventura Co) to pick my "fixed" car up, it wasn't even fixed. I told them to try the smart junction box and they were like oh that's not it. So i basically told him next time I drive from San Diego to pick the car up it had better be fixed.
Update: Dealership finally got it right after replacing the PCM multiple times. Apparently the voltage regulator messed up and overcharged the PCM damaging it. It also fried my sequential tails and my tuner is locked. So I emailed SCT and explained what happened and they are going to waive the unlock fee for me since i gave them all the dealer paperwork. It's nice to know at least some people still understand customer service.
