RE: keyless remote
Ok ok I actually though it was a given how much we love our mustangs...I love mine!! I just wanted to know if this was really the remote that came with the car since everything else is tip top. I just assumed the remote would be too. No biggie...

Curthandluke...
Yup.. that is the factory remote.
I had remote start and a security upgrade installed so I get a different remote.
You can purchase lots of "replacement" remotes from most any automotive shop or over the net that will work on your mustang - - just decide what you like and how much your willing to pay!

I've been thinking about something I wish i had an inventor's workshop that I could produce. Maybe some of you more handy types might try this-
How about a logo type badge that snaps over the remote? Something like with the Mustang pony Logo, or GT or the Ford logo. You could just snap it over the back side of the alarm remote. As flush as possible. No one really needs to access the batteries for years at a time, and it could be pried off with maybe a screwdriver. It would make the ugly remote better and even the cool ones, like the Clifford one I used to have that looked like carbon fiber, could be nice!
Or are remotes all too different in size? hmmm...
Give it a shot. You got a buyer here already!

RE: keyless remote
Ah the good ole' days - you remember when all that came with your car was two keys [8D] Its a cheap peice of plastic because most people beat the **** out of them until they don't work, or worse - lose them! So if you were to end up needing to buy a replacement, would you want to have to pay $50 or so - or $200+ for some fancy remote that does the same thing and resides in your pocket/purse most of the time??
Don't take my response here as a negative/smart-a** one - just trying shed some light on why they are cheap.

RE: keyless remote
I made my Factory Key into a MUSTANG KEY...

I just bought one of those cheap $2 Walmart type leather keybobs and pealed the Mustang Logo part off of the keychain and stuck it onto my key.
I suppose you could do the same to your remote.
