Default brenspeed 302?

http://www.brenspeed.com/engineinfo.html

worth it? what else would i need to drop it into the car? my assumption would be that i could use the rest of the stock 4.6l that isn't supplied with the B302 to get the new block running and get a custom n/a tune on the computer to run the motor naturally aspirated until i can get together the scratch to boost it.

Gaskets and hardware would run about $400.

Worth it if you're definitely going to boost it. Otherwise you're trading a bit more torque for a bit less horsepower.

I'll be putting this engine into my Saleen hopefully this coming weekend. Tried to order an aluminator to save some $$, but they're too popular and were on back-order.

so... stock for "stock" the 302 is less HP with the stock 4.6 item bolted to it? i def want to boost... but i'd be happy to start with this solid block with stock 4.6 items bolted to it while i save for the supercharger

hey scapegoat, if the B302 meets your requirements
for the long term, then imo you can't go wrong with
it.

I thought about this as well because it has forged internals and I'm moving to Illinois and would be close enough to let Brenspeed put it in.

Please post before & after dynos! I'm very curious how much HP is lost with the lower compression.

you will lose a tiny bit up front if you run your stock 4.6 stuff on the B302 block.

invest in some good cams at the same time as the block and good tuning...and you are going to see huge results on that 302 vs. a 281.

If you know for certain you will be running boosted at a later date, do the swap. TQ wins races anyways.

Yeah I'll be sure to. Once it's broken in, I'll get it dyno'd to check the output and Air Fuel ratios.
