Hey all,

Live in Chicago, got a Jeep Rubicon right now, and I love it. Unfortunately, the woman and her dad are ganging up on me to get rid of it. I told them fine, but then I am getting a new Mustang GT.
I have been looking at 10s and 11s. Local dealer has a 10 that is exactly what I want, but I don't think they are gonna move on the price to what I would find acceptable. Anyone have any insight? MSRP lists at 34,8k. What price do you guys think would be doable? I am open to getting a 10, but I am not gonna pay anywhere near MSRP for one.

Thanks!

welcome

As far as price, hard to say, but I would assume with the 2011's coming they would want to move the 2010's sitting around. I'd go in alittle lower than the MSRP and see their reaction. If you are at a "fair" price, they might just sell it, but if not they'll counter offer. That's when the fun begins.

Good Luck.

Welcome to the forum.
Because it's a Jeep, and it gets beaten. Badly. Like a $2 hooker. So my maintenance costs are a little high.

Bart, best advice I got when I brought up the idea of buying a Mustang GT (ended up with an '08 Cali. Spec. convertible, 5 speed) was buy in the winter. With so many warm months ahead, I doubt they will be as aggressive with the selling price with so many potential buyers thinking just like you right now. Ride the Jeep out the rest of the Summer and then find your dream car at a steal next Fall/Winter. As a former Jeep Wrangler owner myself, having that ride with the doors off isn't a bad way to enjoy the next few months.

One other thing to keep in mind if you opt not to get the new 5.0, I was able to get mine (4.6 V8) for under 26k with less than 7k miles on it. Good luck!

Welcome. I go to carsdirect.com and to see what I can get it for with no hassel. Then I go from there. If you are a member of Costco or Sams club. Check out there deals. Got my wife's 07 V6 Accord for $1000 below invoice thru Costco. Good Luck.

Also you might check out the used market. I just got my 06 GT with 9900 miles on it for 16K. It's in mint cond. and loaded.

Thanks everyone!
I have access to the costco program, and the gf works for a leasing company, and can get the car thru her if I choose. Kind of want to buy new, as I have never had a new car before..... I think I will end up with an 11 if I get one.
