I don't have an exact temp, but the needle is in the middle. It is hot as hell outside though, about 104. Earlier today at lunch when it was cooler it did not make the noise.

I am not going to try and make the noise anymore. I did today only to get a more accurate feel/hear for the sound of what it was doing from the first time I encountered it. I pray the previous owner didn't run it like this all the time I have a full 3yr 36k mile warranty.

Did a bit more reading around and it may indeed be the fuel. Going to run this tank bone dry then put in some 91 octane from Chevron for 2 full tanks and see how that runs.

Well, you can't hear the ping at all in the video and it only happens for maybe 1 second in the last 2 gears I hit. Video quality is horrible since I took this with my phone but it is the sound that is more important.

Yeah, can't hear it at all in the clip. The sound of the ping is very faint but you can hear it when physically in the cabin. Just taking it very easy for now running this tank dry.

Emptied the tank and put in some Chevron 93 octane. Going to run this tank dry then another tank of 93 and see how it runs after that.
