Burning out
I was wondering if anyone with a manual o5 stang can burn out without having to rev up a little before dumping the clutch. This is my first car with some power but Ive been in plenty old muscle cars and I know you never need to rev up u can just mash the pedal to the floor and thats it. no rev up. Does this have something to do with new technology. less power. or is something wrong with my car, which I doubt?

Yup Yup...
There is something to be said about a 429 Cobra Jet with, Holly 850 duel pumper', Bored, Stroked, Ballanced, Blueprinted, Roller Cams and solid blue lifters!
Hard NOT to do a burn out.

RE: Burning out
Am I the only idiot who thinks that all that power and torque being converted into actual forward motion instead of tire smoke is a good thing? In my youth I used to get really cranky about losing races in my Chevelle because it had a tendency to sit at the line generating enormous thunderclouds while the other guy ran off...

I was really disappointed when I first test drove my car. I actually went and drove several other GTs and Mach 1s because I thought the one I drove first was just broken LOL.
The hardest thing was learning to race it. the darned thing either wants to bog down or smoke the tires.

RutgersFan...
NOT at all... but with stock tires these stangs aren't gonna Crunch & Launch when you tromp it!
Personally... I like it both ways... Unfortunately - it is hard to get both.. you pretty much get one or the other.. if it burns out easily, it is hard to get it to hook up. If it is easy to hook up.. it is hard to get a burn off.
Such is Life... and to each his own.
