Default SAME Engine Light! I NEED REAL HELP.

Ok... same damn check engine light is back.
P0300 random misfire.

I have taken it to the dealership TWICE for this.
I had diagnostic tests run on the car.
They also changed out the plugs and pulled the COPS and
checked them.

Now... it is freaking back AGAIN.

It has done this off and on EVERY SINCE I had my cams installed.
I don't know what the hell is going on.

I need some real help though.
The dealership says they are having trouble pinpointing it because
it is not telling them which cylinder is misfiring and it is not doing it when they have it.

I left the code this time and did NOT clear it.
I am going to take it in AGAIN in the morning and see wtf they say.
I am also going to call the shop that installed the cams.

Im so pissed right now though and frustrated I can hardly type.
Not to mention tonight was hell in on other parts of my life.

Help and ideas on the check engine code is appreciated.
Thanks everyone.

Gonna take a shot in the dark here... it's the cams. remove em if it upsets you that much.

Have you talked with Chris Rose at AM or the guys at Brenspeed? I'd start there.

Did this start after cam install? P0300 will not tell them what cylinder, like I said in your other thread P0300 is multiple misfires or the PCM can't identify. Camshaft position sensor/circuit may be the issue.

I talked to the tuner.
He seems to think it is something with the cams too.
He said it is because of the duration of the cams.

I asked him if he said it is something that can be fixed and he said yes.
Looks like I am going to take a trip to the tuner after xmas.

Black I am sorry that your still dealing with this issue. I know it sucks. It seems some of these aftermarket cams can throw CELs often. My d rockers have thrown running rich codes with the brenspeed tune and the jdm tune. Its frustrating.

Good luck with everything else too.

Thanks.
Yeah it is frustrating. Especially when the car is running fine.

Tuner says the duration of the cams is causing the computer to "think" there is a misfire. Hopefully they will fix the S.O.B. and fix the hunting idle.

That way all will be well and I can move to my next upgrade which will be
that stereo deck. I just want to wait till this is fixed so I will have that "just in case" cash until it is fixed.

I can tell you right now that if its tune related Brenspeed can fix it. I have been running their tune for 3-4 k miles with my Hot Rod Cams and other mods and never a problem.

Back when I was tuning on my L98 Chevy motor, misfires and idle hunting were two things I was constantly trying to 'learn' my way past with tuning. I think a trip to the tuner will put your mind at ease . . . if that is possible .
