Default Engine build question.

I really want to add some more power to my 06 GT. Either a supercharger or a turbo set up. I do however, worry about the stock engine. So i want to build one.

I am really interested in the brenspeed 302 only because i know forged internals is what you want. Where my knowledge is not so good is what else i would need. Cylinder heads? camshafts? Intake, etc. Would the stock everything other then that build 302 be good to use? I am not going for 900 horse power or anything, but something around 500ish.

I am just trying to decide if it would be easier. Mod out my car or buy a 03 or 04 cobra and throw on a kenny bell or turbo kit and be done with it.

The power train of the S197 can take a lot more power than the stock setup.
I would mod the heck out your mustang. I understand the stock engine is good up to about 550HP without modifying the internals. If you're looking for more than that, the B302 is a good way to go. It's a fraction of the cost of a new 5.0 GT.

No one can say for sure at what level the stock motor is safe to. Some have blown well under 500 and some have lasted at over 500 horsepower. As far as the Brenspeed B302, it is a 4.6L that is stroked to 5 Liters so the cylinder heads and everything else will be able to be taken off the stock motor and put on to it with no problems. When my stock motor goes i'll be going with the B302.

In addition to being stroke to 5 liters, the B302 has also forged internals. It's a great option without having to do a 5.0 engine swap.

But what about everything else? The 302 is only the block as far as i understand. Would everything else from the stock engine work with it and be good for around the 500hp range? I just wanna make sure the engine does not blow up. I now there are other concerns like trans and stuff. But engine wise, how would that 302 with swap stock parts hold?

The stock engine will be fine at 500HP. For the B302, 500HP is a walk in the park even with the stock top. Give brenspeed a call if you have any doubts. Great customer service.

It is literally the same block as your current motor (just made of aluminum). It comes with the internals (which are forged). So the heads, water pump, oil pan, transmission, everything will be able to come off your stock motor and on to the B302. I would suggest calling Brenspeed and taking to them as it seems you may still have questions.
