Never gonna be lowered unless I'm forced into it for some reason. The roads here are rough and I don't wanna have to worry about scraping every time I go in and out of a parking lot because the angle is sharp.

Good god.. how do those bad boys hook up at the track??

With that much rubber, who the hell needs drag radials? lulx

I was gonna purchase a pair of MT drag radials on some 17x8 bullitts, but the tires you have looks like they could hook!

Anybody got pics? Thanks guys.

The benifit of a taller tire is more contact patch. On the street he won't notice a bit of difference in gear ratio.

Pick the brand and tire first, then look at the spec for each and decide. You really can't choose a bad one in this situation.

If you are lowered, the 295/45 may rub, doubt it, but it might.

I may buy 295/45/18 for my next set of rear tires. I really don't care about hooking since I have both M&H race masters and M/T ET streets for the track.

Lets try some more pic's then. Here's some more pics with the 295's out back.

Stock springs:

Lowered:

I was out rompin around last night for the first time on them and can say there is no "felt" change in performance other than more GRIP, but I have dead *** 3.31's. Does lower my rpms's at highway speeds, turning about 1900rpms at 70mph. Before on stock it was about 2100 rpms at the same speed. Like I said before bro, if you have stock springs and do not plan to drop...get em!
If you have already lowered your ride stick with the 285, it looks just as good once you remove the wheel gap with the drop.

He may not being it sounds he's more into aesthetics but if I'm going to go through $$$ and time to do 4.10's I want every benefit from those cogs.

Funny, I just went through this same question. I bought the chrome bullitt deep dish rims from AM and wanted the best look. I am lowered about 1 1/2" so I did choose the 285/40/18. As stated before, this is very close to the stock size for height and is quite a bit wider. I didn't want to worry about hitting although I did read many posts that they wouldn't hit. I also have 4:10's and didn't want to give up any gear as that is where all the fun is. I am hoping to actually get some traction now as I went with the NT05R's out back with the regular 555's in front (245/45/18).

I can't wait for it to get warm so I can get them on and see what it looks like/rides like/will it hook?
