Mine was a mid-life crisis purchase when I turned 50. I don't think I'll ever part with it. If you do buy it I think there is a serialized registry you can apply for through Ford for the Cali Specials. Just a little perk for the uniqueness of them.

My days as a wannabe Mustang owner are over. As of 2 hrs ago I am the proud owner of a 2008 GT California Special, black on black 5 speed manual hardtop. Its low miles, rattle and squeek free and drives awesome.

Thanks to all for the advice and feedback. I will post pics as soon as figure out how. I pick the car up on tuesday. The weekend is going to be really long lol.

Something to be aware of, half way through 2008 Ford changed the head design on the 4.6L engine to get rid of the 2 piece spark plug and all the horror that goes along with breaking spark plugs. I for one would absolutely hate to buy one of the last engines produced with the old design plugs in it. I would check it out and see if it has the new or old head design. Just my $.02 worth. A word to the wise...

Goldenpony, thanks for the tip, I checked and it has one piece plugs in it. I was concerned about that already. This forum is great.

Congrats modman and don't worry about a thing. One piece plugs, no water leak issue, and sounds like you got an unmolested specimen! You will find that the drivetrains on these cars are almost indestructible. Have fun with your new Stang!! Just remember.....intake/tune first lol. These really are fun cars.
