Default should I upgrade my heat exchanger?

Next couple of weeks getting gears... ( 4.10's) and a smaller blower pullley... 2.80 right now it's 2.90 at 8.5 lbs of boost.. The tuner said the car stayed around 110-112 degrees on the IAT's while he was dynoing it. The smaller pulley should net me around 3/4 to 1 pound increase in boost. Would it be needed to go with a larger hear- exchanger? If I do was looking at both the AFCO and the Steeda exchanger...

If you can afford it do it. While it isn't free it does enable you to have a more power. Especially if you up the boost more. But also it allows you to run more timing, a mixture that is not overly rich along with the added boost can give significantly more power than the boost alone would make possible. Plus a bigger safety margin.

I added a larger tank to cure my issues. A better HE is also a good idea. Anythingyou do to keep the IATs down on a blower car will keep your car fast.

Only if the added weight warrants the new found hp.. not sure how much it weighs along with the extra large coolant canister, not to mention the giant fans.. but it looks massive lol

You'll never have to worry about heat soak with that bad boy...

you could see if the IAT are any different and take it from there.
if it ain't broke, don't fix it. is what i say.
but it also wouldn't hurt, and cooler is always better.
but if your IAT's are essentially the same, i dont see a need for it.

On the dyno the other day I made 3 pulls. It was about 75 degrees out. I was on 100 oct and running a ton of timing @15psi. My IATs were 78 degrees. Last year, same conidtions, my IATs were going over 140 and the computer was pulling timing. I have a stock KB system with a huge tank in the trunk that can hold up to 10 gallons of water. I normally run 2-3 in the tank and use the extra room to throw abag of ice in it.

I went to the track with the tank and made a pass. Went back, added ice, gained .3 and 3 mph. Added more ice to cold water and gained .1 and 1 mph. Total of .4 and 4 mph. Probably added 50-60 pounds to the car and still made up ground.
