Default All plugged up...........

Hey, i have several questions........
I have an '06 GT (auto). I have recently found out about the spark plug problems associated with my mustang. I have decided to change to one piece plugs, the car has just under 50k on it. My questions are as follows: What is a good one piece plug? Also, are there any PROVEN plugs that actually increase power? dyno sheets, E/t's, or a review? How are NGK's? Anyone have them? where do i find them? i really dont know much about all the different metals as the conductor in spark plugs. Also, it currently has a bunch o' bolt-ons (pypes exhaust from the manifolds back, JLT CAI, underdrive pulleys, throttle body spacer) but i DO plan on installing a new intake manifold and Stage 2 comp cams in the foreseeable future, probably long headers, delete charge motions, ported heads, Coil on plug (MSD), better Throttle body, (among others, but those are pretty much most of the under the hood mods im going to do). Should i go with colder or hotter plugs, or keep the same heat range?

Any answers any of you can provide that answer my questions are greatly appreciated, and links are also appreciated, if you can provide them. Thank you all!!

So you will get alot of opinions so just understand that.

If you are planning on going NA you are on the right track. If your goal is to have a pretty fast car (faster than most) than go FI. Skip the heads, cams thorttle body, the spacer and charge motion plates.

Get a twin screw blower, save money and make way more power.

Almost any aftermarket plugs is better than OEM. I use autolite HTOs, but you could get one heat range warmer, maybe the HT1's.

Skip all those other bolt ons and go straight to FI. After all the cash I spent on bolts ons, cams etc.....it was never even close enough to what I wanted, hence the supercharger I have now. Cams also took a dump on my low end even with 4.10 gears. For DD the car felt slower.
For plugs while NA I used autolight HT1's. With FI I now have HT0's.

ok, where do i find autolite HT1's or HT0's? Local parts store does not have them, the only thing i can find near me is the same junk OEM plugs that are already in it. American Muscle does not even have them.
I understand what you all are saying, but I really like the sound of a cammed S197 GT, plus i want to be different. I know i won't make as much power, and i'm ok with that. its not all about power for me, besides the block will supposedly only handle up to 500 crank hp. i dont want to have to start swapping internals too. besides, where i live, the car as it is is already one of the fastest DD's.

back on topic, where do i find those plugs? anywhere online? and should i go 1's or 0's? the car is getting a custom dyno tune in a week, im gonna do the high octane.

Thanks again, I do appreciate all the help. I really need these plugs quick, as im having some other work done on it before the dyno, and the guy thats doing it, i'd rather have him do everything at once. Thank you!

If you aren't going FI, then I concur with what you stated above with the exception of the TB spacer and COPs and possibly the delete plates. The only reason I didn't add the aftermarket TB to your list is because you're planning on a lot of other breathing mods. Otherwise, the stock TB can handle cams and LT's pretty well.

I'd stick with the present heat range without any other feedback from some of the other internally modded folks.

HT1s made by autolite can be purchased at Napa. Plugs are not cheap either. I have a set I had on my car for a month. Put on in October then decided to go FI, pulled them in November. Excellent condition. Retail price is $12 each or more. $60 and there yours shipped to USA.

808muscle.... Closest napa is a 45-55 minute drive! What is the OEM/stock heat range? I'm guessing 1 from everyones' replies. I'm definitely interested.... As long as those will work ok with the mods I have, and the ones I have planned.

Just be aware both Motorcrap and Autolite plugs ARE 2 PIECE PLUGS. No plug is going to MAKE power. The only 1 piece plugs I know of are Champion, Brisk and Accell. All are expensive, Accell are stupid expensive. Champion are the only plugs that are double platinum and therefore will have a very long life. Some will say Champions are bad, but a lot of us (myself included) are using them with great sucess. They are a true 1 piece plug.
The choice is yours - choose wisely.

goldenpony.........ok, i should rephrase that then. optimum spark for the most complete burn to maximize the power i have. make sense now?

also, a question for EVERYONE that sees this thread.......... even IF i were to get a two piece plug, would it present the same problems as the stock plugs? carbon build up, welding plug to head, major headache to change, etc. the plugs i am looking at are here:

http://shoptillman.com/products/Revo...8-133-132.html

(although not from that seller, but those are the plugs i am looking at)

will these plugs do the same thing the stock plugs do? Thanks again!
