Default 4 passenger no way

I have a 2011 Mustang GT, it is advertised as a 4 passenger? I don't think even a little person could fit back there.
I did however have my grandson in the backseat, he was in a car seat. So why do they advertise it being a 4 passenger?

Because it has seats in the back, doesn't matter if they're small, they're there and it's called advertizing.
It's up to you to choose your passengers accordingly.

Guess they don't specify what size the passenger is. When we go out with other couples in the vert the ladies are in front and there is then some slight room for us guys in the back since the front seats are almost all the way up. Its really a 2 passenger with 2 kids under 8

I am 6'3"/280, wife is 5'5" and not heavy, grandson is behind her, 17, 6'/185, granddaughter is behind me, 5'6"/135..... Would not want to do a cross country trip but trips an hour or so away work good. It is all in how much you want it to work. There is not room for everyone to stretch out and lounge.....after all, it is a sports car too......

Agree.
Most suited for kids for sure, because we all know what adults use the back seats for...

I've fit adults in the back seat before. If you have 3 passengers, put the largest in the passenger seat, second largest behind the passenger seat and slide the seat forward a bit, and the smallest behind the driver. Definitely not for long trips, but it is useable. Especially on 2011's the headrest in nice. Been in the back seat in a 2005 and kept hitting my head on the rear window.
