Default TR3650 - Using Synchromesh Transmission Fluid

I remember reading something a while ago on different types of fluid people had good luck with in the TR3650. I cant recall if the synchromesh/synchromax helped in the 05+ TR3650, or if it was only reccomended for 04's and earlier. I know the proper fluid is a Mercon ATF, but I have that in my transmission now and its starting to get notchy.

Will synchomesh work in the 05+ or will it cause damage to the carbon fiber lined synchros, any first hand experience?

I am running RP in my 06 GT TR3650...about 20k on it now...shifts great and runs cooler...I havent heard of any negative comments...I did fill my Snake TR6060 and rearend with Amsoil fluids...both cars shift well...

I'm still running the factory fluid in my manual but intend on draining and refilling with Amsoil in the near-future.

Ford still recommends Synchromesh but you can't go wrong with Amsoil.

I'm going to give the synchromesh a try and will post my result. Hopefully it takes some of the notchiness out of the transmission.

Also whats the deal on running 3 quarts instead of 4, has anyone done this and noticed a difference?

Made the switch to Synchromesh, not sure if its mental or not but it feels like the transmission is a bit smoother.

Also changed from 75-140 synthetic diff fluid to 80w90 cheapo Walmart supertech GL5 and the groan in my rear end is completely gone. I'm nothing short of amazed, 2 years, 2 fluid changes and 15k miles of living with it.

Using the Ford recommended Motorcraft gear oil and friction modifier quieted my 3.73s down greatly.

Royal Purple was loud, and ridiculously expensive.

It's nice now that the rear end is quiet, It was so bad before that you could clearly hear it outside the car.

I changed mine out to the RP Synchromax, and my tranny is much smoother shifting than b4.

CTGT2005, the correct fill for the TR3650 is 3.2 quarts. Do Not, put any more than that. I found out the hard way, first time I changed my tranny lube I filled it 'til it was level the with the fill hole, which is about 4 qts, and the shifting suffered badly- 3rd to 4th shift especially did not wanna go smooth. Refilled with 3.2 qts and all was smooth as butter.
