Default Fat ***** - '05 shift ****

Has anyone heard anything pro or con about Fat *****? I'm looking for a replacement and want something to fit the cars retro theme. I've seen all the ones from MGW, Mustang Tuning, etc. but none of them have been to my liking. I had a real nice fat one from my '65 2+2, but it wont fit the new threads. I'm looking for something 2 1/4" to 2 1/2" diameter.

I can make you **** from a new 8-ball. Just tell me what the thread size is. I made one for my son's car & he loves it. I asked him to send me pictures of it. Let me know if you're interested & I'll post the pics.

i bought the hurst white 5 speed ****. much larger than the original ****. the threads are not correct but i drilled them out and installed on the shifter using J-B Weld. I removed the boot from the console, pulled it up over the new ****, pulled the ringed area down into the boot and tied it clsed with a zip tie. then reinstalled the boot and the boot fits snug around the stick and leaves about 2 inches exposed. i really like the large ball size and the white **** gets compliments a lot. very retro even if larger than the ball on my 70 Cobra.

Does anyone know what thread is used on the stock shifter? I need major diameter, number of threads per inch & size of counterbore, if any.

Sorry. Maybe I should have been more clear: click on link provided, you will be directed to a page with thumbnails showing the 8-ball shift ****. Clicking on THOSE thumbnails will enlarge the picture.

link to 8-ball shifter ****: http://www.dzcues.com/camera_stuff.htm

Can anyone verify that the stock shifter thread size is 12mm x 1.25?

You can make one with that thread, send it to me. I'll let you know if it fits [sm=smiley20.gif]

I really like the way that would look in my car.
