Default Base Price Increase After October?

I am currently looking to purchase a 2012 Mustang GT and have noticed that GT's manufactured after October 2012 have a base price increase from $29,310 to $29,710. Does anyone know the reason for this? Did they fix any problems with the car, or did they just feel the need to increase the price of it? I am currently looking at two different GT's, with the only difference being the color and the base price difference. I would definitely purchase the more expensive one if the reason for it was that they fixed something. Thanks for the help guys!

1st, I have no idea if they did change anything, but the additional $400 is probably not because of fixes, but rather raised due to normal inflation...

2nd, could the price difference be do to additional cost for a premium color?

I had a feeling someone would ask about the color, I guess I should have said something about that . No the price doesn't have to do with color, one was black and the other was sterling gray metallic, both of which don't cost extra. I'm thinking that is is inflation, like your 1st suggestion stated. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed any recent news, since I have only been car shopping for a 5.0 for the last couple of weeks.

Anyone have any suggestions as to things I should look for when test driving a new 5.0? Did they fix all of the 6MT noise back in July, or is it still present in some new 5.0's?

Thanks for your help D!

Sounds like inflation. At some point during the test drive, drive it with the windows up and listen for a whine from the tranny or rearend. When listening for the whine try it with the car in gear and take the car out of gear and cost in neutral. You shouldn't hear any whining/noise

I'm thinking...dude...it's only $400. You should have no problem talking that down EASY.

I would, but I could use a car right now and I'm about to get a heck of a deal on a new 2012 base GT. And the $3500 in ford rebates now make it look much nicer than the 2013 .

Did the fix the engine tick in the new 2012 gts? I started the GT cold and I may have heard the ticking everyone talks about but definitely wouldn't have noticed if I didn't know it was an issue.
