Default engine identification

Ok guys, I am in prep mode getting ready to do a spark plug and CAI install on wednesday. and I was just over looking my engine seeing what needs to be removed and I realized this car is 5 years old and the engine looks brand new. is there a way I can tell if this is the original engine? I figure I can check the code on the engine, but I am not sure if that would give me the info I am looking for.

You sure it wasn't detailed at some point?

I was a professional detailer for ford.. and we never put this much effort into the engine bay.. plus these are the same detailers that lefts a bag of trash and and bag of dirty diapers in the trunk the day i bought it.

Oh, its brand new.
If it was replaced, it would show signs
of that procedure taking place.
Check the VIN #s on the top of the tranny bellhousing and
behind the exhaust manifold gaskets on the engine.
The #s should be matched to the body mounted VIN plate..

I know all about it, the car has 36k miles on it and I got PB blaster, and the spark plugs already in there dont look motorcraft so the original owner might have already done something about this.

Good. I did mine about a month ago. I bought the LIS65600 broken removal tool that I didnt end up having to use. 1 piece plugs are the way to go.

my car has over 40K on the motor and it still looks new. 36K is still low miles for a 5 yr old car.

I got my E3s in with no problem, also slapped in a K&N CAI too. the only hiccup was having to go to oreillys to grab a 9/16 spark plug removal socket.
