change to synthenic

AMSOIL is indeed a top shelf oil. I used it for a while but I couldn't bring myself to leave it in for like 10K miles. I change my oil, even synthetic at 5K miles. At the price of AMSOIL, I couldn't justify it, so I am now using Pennzoil Ultra changed at 5K miles. It's still pricey, but I can get it at Wallyworld.

The Motorcraft synthetic blend works just fine for me. I've got it in the Stang for over the winter. Was going to switch to M1 for the summer but may as well just save the $10 and put in Motorcraft again, then put the money towards a fuel filter change.
Not going to put any more than 4k on over the summer, and it'll be changed again before going away. May very well be even less now that I have the Ranger, too. Again, may as well just go with Motorcraft.

That would be incorrect. Al Amatuzio (Amsoil founder) saw the benefits of synthetics when he was a fighter pilot. So syn oil has been around longer than Amsoil which was started in 1972. Amsoil, however, led the charge in using synthetics in automotive applications. That is where their slogan "First in synthetics" originates.
I change my Amsoil every 5000 miles. The car has averaged a little over 5k a year. So once a year, my "waste" oil goes to my shop and is used as heating oil.
