Does the inspection invlove only a visual for the cats? Never heard of "cheaters" but then, I've never removed my cats. BTW, since you don't have cats, I have to assume you have a custom tune to turn the O2 sensors off. Otherwise, if the inspection involves connecting to your OBD port, you're screwed regardless of cheaters.

+1 what Nuke said. Here in Illinois they stick a sniffer up your tail pipe, ya just can't fake that test.

Really? Where I'm at it's just an OBD port scanner.

If you're talking about MIL eliminators, I've been told they don't work on the s197's. If you're talking about the o2 sensor non foulers, you can make them from parts bought at autozone, o'reliy's, whatever.

Neither will help you if the rear o2's are turned off in your tune.

If you live in an area that just looks for OBDII codes, then you'll be fine as long as your car is tuned for the off road mid pipe. If your car isn't tuned for the off road mid pipe, then it should be anyway, so invest in a tuner from a reputable dealer (brenspeed, bama, etc).

I don't think anybody makes MIL eliminators for S-197's, but if you're rear o2's are turned off in your tune then you will fail when they hook up your OBDII.

I have the sct x3 tuner... The guy I go to does the "visual" but where I am having the issue is when bama turns all the codes back to ready the o2 sensors in the front are going to read fail, I was told they make the eliminator for the o2 sensors you put the sensors in then screw it back in and it won't read fail

I ran into this last September when I had to get mine inspected. Even though the MIL is not on, there will be a code in the computer showing the rear O2 circuit is not complete. Only way I got my car to pass was to put the stock cats back on, then get inspected, and then switch them back out. Total PITA, but I was unable to find another way. Good luck, but I think you will ultimately have to do the same.
