No cold air from my A/C

Vent temp is going to fluctuate based on ambient temp and humidity. If it's 115F outside, then you'd be lucky to see 45 degrees at the vent.
You should consider moving to a climate more suitable for humans.

I just bought a 2013 GT, and i noted that the A/C did not get cold on the test drive, but since i drove it a few blocks, thought it did not have time to cool down. Ont e way home after the purchase, the A/C temp was tepid at best. My digital thermometer shows the vent temp at best to be 45 degrees, but it will normally hover around 47-48. My old company car (GM) runs about 35 degrees. Went back to the dealer and walked with the sales guy to a 2008 Mustang that was in the used car lot. Within three minutes, the vent temp was 33.6.
Most agree there is an issue with the new ford A/C, except their customer service. After numerous calls, they say that the system is within specs and the evaporator valve shuts off at 45 degrees to keep the evaporator from freezing. One service rep told me there have been other complaints. 45 degrees does not get it in 100-115 degree heat in the desert. If the 2008 Mustang will operate at near freezing, why won't the new system do the same? Oh, Ford tells me this is a different system. I'm certainly fighting an uphill battle. Other vehicles I've tested all run in the mid 30's vent temp. A/C guys tell me 45 degrees is inadequate. I'm open to any suggestions.

AC complaints are only going to get worse. R134 is being (has been) phased out for another new greener gas and this time it's even less efficient than R134 which is less efficient than R12 was.
Pretty soon they'll have you just using compressed air or something or going back to the original way of cooling down, rolling the windows down.

Anyways, back to the OP, figure out the problem yet or pick up a manifold guage set to provide some meaninful info for us to help you troubleshoot?

mine too
I bought a 2013 gt and I never f felt the a/c was that great. I've had the car for a year now and 6 months ago I took it in to have the a/c looked at and I was told there was nothing wrong. Well, today it completely stopped. It says it's on but no cold air. I haven't looked under the hood yet but I don't see any rpm change so I assume the compressor isn't engaging. Now it's out of warranty, of coarse. My question is, since I spotted an issue while under warranty do I have a leg to stand on?

An A/C can get just as cold in any temp, just may take longer. As long as you are using the recirculate feature, it is recooling the already coll air inside the car and it will eventually get down there unless there is something wrong. If you are using outside air instead of recirculating, then you won't get nearly as cool in high temps.

Don't replace that compressor yet
I had a ford 500 that would only blow cool air when you were on the highway. I was told by ford and a/c shops it was the compressor. At least a 1500.00 job. I went to my regular shop and we decided to surf the net for possibilities. What we found was that it was NOT. the compressor at all but a valve underneath the compressor that controls freon to the rest of the AMC system. My mechanic drained the system, put a new valve in and refilled it for around 160.00. That was 7 years ago. It's been blowing cold ever since.
