Default Vinyl Stripes Cleaning??

Ive had my Mustang about a year and noticed some of the spots on my Vinyl stripes wont come off! Any suggestions on what to clean them with? I have some vinyl cleaner but not sure I want to risk getting any on the paint.

you could always mask off/cover the nearby painted areas. I have personally always just used soap and water and a soft mitt or towel to wipe my vinyl and it hasn't steered me wrong, but I also haven't had something pesky/stained on there either.

Vinyl stripes seem to be more trouble than they are worth...mine are going away soon.

I was told by a rep from Autogeek.net to use some stuff called Opticlean. Works great. I just wash my car with some mother's car wash and then run the opticlean over the stripes after blow drying the car. Also it has protectants in it since you're not supposed to wax vinyl.

Do a search. Someone put up a really good article on vinlyl stripe care. They should be cleaned with 2/1 alcohol and water. The protectant needed is 303. It is a really good article and should be made a sticky I think.

I found the article but cannot make a link to it. It is titled " Why wax damages matte finishes." Blacksmoke wwrote it and the protectant uses was 303 Aerospace Protectant.
