Default New Guy

Hey guys~

I am a newb and looking for a little advise. I have had my eye on a 2009 GT black on black for a while now and am about to pull the trigger and would like a little input as to know issues and or things I should look out for.

I had a 69 coupe in high school and the 09 is about as close as I have found to the same styling but with all the advancements of the newer cars. That is the main reason I am looking at the 09 and its an anniversary year.

Here is the link to the car I am looking at

http://www.mckiegm.com/VehicleDetail...-SD/1860593853

I can see that the head lights and tail lights have been modified as well as the exhaust. The wheels are Mustang but appear to be from a different model as they have a cobra in the middle rather than the pony.

Any input or thoughts are welcomed.

Thank you~

I'm not aware of any real issues with the '09 but it is just out of the 3/36 warranty so I'd take it and get it checked somewhere. That price is high though, they are about $1000 above clean retail on NADA. They probably paid less than $20k for it on trade so don't get taken by a smooth talking salesman.

Just bought my 09 with 18,000 miles on it 6 weeks ago, $18,500.

Since the 13's have been on the street, you're talking about a 4 year old vehicle. The price is high. I wouldn't pay over $20k and if you know how to haggle you should be able to swing $18k-$19k.

The '09 benefits from all the issues from the 05 thru 07 which Ford got MOST resolved in those first 4 years.

Very nice looking car, but the price is absolutely insane. I wouldn't come within 5 grand of that price for that car.

Thanks for the help guys !

I agree that the price is pretty high. Especially since its November and I'm in South Dakota.

I worked on them down to 22k today and walked out the door.

I'm looking at another one online right now with less miles so we will see.

I think I am the new owner of a 2009 GT black on black with 850 miles on it.... Just made the deal over the phone with a guy that has had it parked in the garage since he bought it in 09 with 600 miles on it.
Prob needs a few fluids changed and such but I am pretty stoked. )

Wow great low mileage find, what was the selling price if you don't mind.

After a two day driving trip to go get my new car I am pretty stoked.
The car literally has 830 miles on it and is about a 9.6 out of 10 in all ways. The exhaust still has the factory stickers on it!

The guy installed a Hurst shifter on it, removed the mufflers and put in a black dash panel. The rest appears to be OEM. I am going to restore the exhaust as it is just too loud for my taste and I am going to try and figure out what I can about the hurst shifter.... Not sure if it is just a decoration or there is actually a transmission kit installed in it of some sort.

Do any of you have experience with the hurst shifters? Can you shed some light on the subject for me?

I would also like any input you may have on mufflers. I love a deep throaty sound of a V8 but this thing with no mufflers is a bit too much. This is coming from a guy who also rides Harley's with straight pipe exhaust. It's not the cool rumble that a sporty V8 should have.... It's more like a popping rattle then a low rumble.... I hope that makes sense.

Thanks guys
