Default 4.10 gear

I'm looking to upgrade my 3.55 to 4.10's. I know that gears aren't suppose to make a noise, Ive read that a steep gear like a 4.10 will make a slight noise. Is this true?

No noise with my 4.10s, other than the wife screaming at me when I stomp on it.

How to find a good shop to do the install? I in no way would equate "good" shop with the stealership but they honor their warranty... I called them up and they won't do a gear swap.

What part of texas are you in. There's bound to be a forum member nearby who can recommend a good performance shop.

Just from being on this forum for 7 years, I'd say your odds of having no additional noise are slim. I have frpp 4.10's and there's a slight whine at speeds over 55ish, mostly on decel, but still noticeable when cruising. It wasn't there in the beginning.Or it was possibly there with the stock gears and all my mods amplified it over the years.

I have the chance to buy a lightly used set of 4.10's installed for $300 is that a good deal?

I wouldn't buy used gears. Trying to save a buck usually ends up costing you more in the long run
