Hello all,

I have been looking into throwing on some mods listed below. After looking at what I want to do and what I already have installed will this be a issue on my stock trans?

Brenspeed Detroit Rocker Supercharged Cam

Mods I already have on vehicle.

Saleen Stage 3 "Corvette Killer SC
Rear control/ trailing arms with rear trailing arm relocation brackets
Poly bushing in the front and a more aggressive bushing on the rear
BBK Headers
Boost a Pump
Full exhaust system
Lowering Springs
Intake

Hey there Cmbt,

You posted this in the V6 section for S197's (not sure if you knew that). Anyway if you go over to the GT pages they might know what that trans can hold up to. I'd guess you are probably getting close since Shelby GT500 uses a special six speed manual to handle that 500+HP engine.

See what the GT guys are putting through those 5 speed autos, they will know the limits trust me!

I basically had the same setup only difference was I had 410's with my stage 3, torque convertor. I never had a problem and I go to the track 4 to 6 times a year. However I don't have headers. But I do have dual gt500 fuel system.

So as far as the tranny is concerned it has continued to perform great. I have installed PA deep tranny pan on mine so I could actually check the fluid level and drain it like you would normally when it comes time to change fluid. These autos are stout if you drive them like they are meant to be driven.

To beef up my 5r55s, I installed a hardened input shaft when the converter was installed, and also, billet servos. (all from tci).
