I have a new 2005 saleen sc and i love it but i didnt like the shifter that came in the car. So i changed it to a hurst plus shifter. Thats the one on the tri pod. To me it doesnt shift as smooth as the old T5 with a hurst on it does. Is it me or do i need a different shifter if so what shifter. I love to street race but this shifter is slow . Its just not as smooth as i want it to be. Please help

 

I too have a hurst competition plus shifter in my gt and it seemed to me that after you got it broke in it loosened up a little. I understand what you mean about it being not so smoothe. I had a hard time hitting third on hard shifts at first. Once I got it broke in I got a lot better. I'd just say leave it in until you get it broke in and then if you still do not like it than switch it out and sell it for a steeda tri-ax shifter. How long has it been in?

 

I have had it for 3 weeks and that is it.But i will keep it and try to get it broke in.

 

Thats the first negative post about the Hurst I've seen. The only other problem was that someone had installed one and tightened it too much which made it hard to shift but I've seen pics of 1st to 2nd shifts and it looks real short. Hope you work it out. Let us know, thats the shifter I was going to go with.

 

Has anyone installed the Roush short throw?

I am trying as best as possible to keep my Roush a Roush, but I haven't heard any feedback on the Roush short throw....
